About Jay McKenna
Jay McKenna is Managing Director on the Infrastructure Credit team and is responsible for origination, execution, and ongoing investment management, approaching opportunities as a seasoned c-suite executive and entrepreneur. Prior to joining OIC, Jay was CEO of Occurrent Power, a development stage tidal clean power business based in Nova Scotia and portfolio company of OIC. Before Occurrent, Jay was CEO of Yelofin, a technology company commercializing micro-scale underwater infrastructure inspection systems. In 2015, Jay co-founded Nacero Inc., an innovative low carbon fuels business, serving as its CEO until 2023. At Nacero, Jay led business development, commercial strategy, and fundraising, overseeing an industry leading team that championed the Financial Times’ 2021 “most ambitious” clean energy project in Texas. As CEO he delivered expert testimony on rural clean energy programs to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture. Jay continues to serve on Nacero’s Board of Directors. Before Nacero, Jay was CFO of K Road Power through the Company’s exit to First Solar and a private equity buyer. Jay started his career at Credit Suisse’s Energy Investment Banking group and moved to Goldman Sachs’ Global Commodity Principal Investment Group. Jay is an advisory board member of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Center for Energy, Development, and Global Environment (EDGE), an alumni mentor for the Duke University Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and an Eagle Scout.
