About Ishan Rao
Ishan Rao is the VP of Commercial at Syzygy and responsible for the project deals, business development, technology licensing and other strategic collaborations for Syzygy’s success. Ishan joined Syzygy in November 2023 as a Chief of Staff to CEO Trevor Best where he oversaw cross-disciplinary activities and strategic projects at Syzygy. He brings more than a decade of operations, projects, technology, and consulting experience, largely developed in the oil and gas industry. At KPMG, he has advised operators on upstream portfolio management and strategy, and asset improvement. Prior to that, Ishan held multiple positions with Shell in its deepwater business working on Flow Assurance, subsea technology, systems, and strategy. He also spent 5 years in Shell deepwater operations based out of New Orleans. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai and completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2013. Ishan has a passion for technology, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable business.
